I know my way around the medical system. I’ve had good and bad experiences. But every minute of everything that happened at Mammoth Hospital was handled as beautifully as possible.
-Jordan Sollitto
In October 2024, Jordan Sollitto had planned a relaxing “spa day” for his wife in Mammoth Lakes. The couple own a cabin in June Lake, so they drove down to Mammoth for the day so Jordan’s wife could get a massage and Jordan could ride his e-bike up to the Lakes Basin.
On his way back down the Lakes Basin Path, one of the struts came off his front fender, stopping the bike in its tracks and tossing Jordan “about 20 feet” over the handlebars of his bike, Jordan recalls.
“My CT Scan showed that I had at least seven broken ribs, a separated shoulder, and a broken scapula,” says Jordan. “I sat there for about 10 minutes after my crash trying to decide what to do, because I literally heard my bones breaking.”
Jordan managed to limp his bike back and “stagger into the spa office. My poor wife had just gotten out of her ‘zen’ place and was getting into the jacuzzi.” He ended up at the Mammoth Hospital emergency room where he was met with caregivers who surpassed his expectations. “I can’t express how much I appreciate the tenderness and compassion everyone showed me.”
Jordan took the time to lift up his “extraordinary” caregivers with a donation to the Mammoth Hospital Foundation.
“From the moment I walked into the door, every tech, nurse, doctor, clerk, was so kind and through and diligent,” says Jordan. “I just can’t say enough.”
Jordan, a cancer survivor, says “I know my way around the medical system. I’ve had good and bad experiences. But every minute of everything that happened at Mammoth Hospital was handled as beautifully as possible.”
The Mammoth Hospital Foundation’s “Moving Mountains” program is an avenue for patients to express their gratitude for exceptional care.
