Little Lupins Preschool

Mammoth Hospital is proud to nurture both our community and our team through Little Lupins Preschool. Established to meet the vital need for reliable, high-quality childcare, Little Lupins not only supports local families but also strengthens the hospital’s ability to recruit and retain dedicated staff.

In 2022, Mammoth Hospital made a momentous decision to help local families and to ensure our team can be here for our patients by opening Little Lupins preschool. Mammoth Hospital is truly leading our community towards a brighter future by working to fill our community’s critical need for childcare.

Recruitment and retention is a strategic priority for Mammoth Hospital, and the availability of a consistent, high-quality preschool is already helping to support this endeavor.

Jen Yednock, Mammoth Hospital’s Staff Development Coordinator, says that she applied to work at Mammoth Hospital largely because of the draw of the childcare program. Little Lupins won a Tier 5 award from First Five California, the highest rating possible, in its first year of operation, and was nominated as New Business of the Year in 2023 by the Mammoth Lakes Chamber of Commerce.

Gifts to Little Lupins provide scholarships for low-income students so our high-quality daycare program remains accessible to all hospital families. A gift of $6,000 funds one full time scholarship for a school year.
